The League Management Company (LMC) has fined Sunshine Stars over six million naira owing to the violent conduct of its fans.

LMC says the Akure-based football club had breached some of its rules during a week nine match against Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan in the Nigerian Professional Football League.

In three separate charges, Sunshine Stars will pay five million naira and a suspended two-point deduction for hindrance of broadcast towards the end of the match.

The club will also pay 500,000 naira for not controlling their supporters from harassing and assaulting a visiting club’s officials.

Similarly, another fine of 750,000 naira was levied on the Akure club for failure to ensure adequate security and allow access to unauthorised persons to all restricted areas.

Sunshine Stars picked up the maximum three points for the first time in the season after beating the visiting Shooting Stars 2-1.
