Zaha To Quit Crystal Palace Next Summer

By Daily Sports Nigeria on September 12, 2022

Wilfried Zaha will reportedly leave Crystal Palace when his contract runs out next summer despite Eagles board making a move for him to extend his stay.

The Ivorian’s five-year deal with the club is coming to an end next summer- but Zaha has no shortage of suitors, which is making it tough for him to make up his mind.

Since making his debut for the club Wilfried Zaha has made a total of 292 appearances and has scored 69 goals for the south London side.

His influence on the Crystal Palace team is more than just goals though, as everything starts and ends with him.

After scoring 14 goals last season, Zaha has jumped on to a strong start to this campaign too with four goals already including one at Anfield against Liverpool that earned his side a valuable point.

The 29-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Chelsea late on this summer even though his manager Patrick Vieira had always insisted that the forward would be at the club this season.

What Vieira has not been able to do though has been to get him sign a new deal and according to a report by TeamTalk, Zaha is looking to run down his contract and walk away as a free agent next year.

The Eagles star man was a target for Jose Mourinho but the player and Roma did not agree on personal terms, but there is no hiding from the fact that Zaha would be looking to try his luck at a historic club when the opportunity avails itself again.

Then there is the interest from Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel might have left but the Chelsea board tried to get him in the summer and clubs will be circling for the signature of the former Manchester United man if he is a free agent.
