Iwobi vows to overcome tough times at Arsenal

By Daily Sports on April 28, 2017

Nigeria and Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi has revealed that his football career has been bumpy, but it will only benefit him and make him a strong player at the Gunners.

Iwobi was speaking about his recent lack of game time at the Emirates-based side after failing to play in their last three games.

According to manager Arsene Wenger, Iwobi is a victim of Arsenal's new playing formation which saw the player being axed from the starting line-up.

However, the 20-year-old remains defiant as he has witnessed even worse in his career, reflecting on his almost release on three separate occasions during his formative years at the club.

Speaking to the Evening Standard website, the Super Eagles international said his plight will make him stronger.

“My journey so far has been a bumpy ride, so it’s something I look back on and say to myself I will overcome it,” he said.

“If I can overcome things that I believe were worse than what’s going on now, then surely I should be able to overcome this.

“It’s tough, especially for the ones who almost get released, which I unfortunately had to go through. It makes you stronger.

“If you’re good enough and you apply the work that needs to be done and put in maximum effort then you’ll come through.”(mtnfootball.com)
