Kwara United Emerge Champions of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Pre-Season Tournament

The Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Pre-Season Tournament came to an end yesterday, Thursday, September 19, 2019, with Kwara United triumphing over Lobi Stars of Makurdi via penalty shootout after regulation time ended in a barren draw.

Kwara United’s goalkeeper Emmanuel Iwu emerged as the best goalkeeper of the tournament while Dede Muoghara, also of Kwara United, was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. The highest goal scorer of the tournament was Abdulmalik Mumuni of Lobi Stars with three goals.

The Fair Play award went to Rivers United.

Hon Aniagwu Charles Ehiedu, the Delta State Commissioner for Information, who represented the sports-loving Governor Okowa, presented the trophy and medals to Kwara United, Lobi Stars players and their officials.
