Rolly, Lord Honour To Battle In 2019 Bet9ja Royal Cup Grand Finale

By Obaseki Anthony in Kwale on December 6, 2019

Rolly FC and Lord Honour will on December 14 trade tackles in the final of the 2019 Bet9ja Royal Cup at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.

Osevan FC will play for bragging rights against Bobbies United in the third-place match which will take place before the final showdown.

Lord Honour had picked the final ticket after an emotion-laden encounter with Bobbies United in the second semi-final on Tuesday, December 3, at Kwale Township Stadium, which they won 3 - 1.

The fame enjoyed by Bobbies United prodigy Anderson Esiti and Lord Honour’s leading light Oghenekaro Etebo with the Super Eagles set these two grassroots clubs apart in Delta State. And that seemed to have given this fixture all the needed attention, with passionate followers on both sides, and the egocentric push to play for pride on the pitch.

Bobbies United drew the first blood when they opened scoring midway through the opening period courtesy of Ogaga Ogude.

There was a dramatic twist, however, for Bobbies United, after forward Emariojake Lucky needlessly picked up a red card.

Tempers began to fray among the two teams after the incident, and play was stopped for few minutes before halftime.

The second half saw Bobbies United playing like a side broken in spirit, and Lord Honour were quick to capitalise on that, with three goals through Bakare Ayo, Akin Ola and Siakpere Kpobor turning the game in their favour.

Less than few minutes to the end of the tie, Lord Honour had their own fair share of disciplinary issues after Alex Adogbeji was red-carded, following a second yellow card but it was already late for Bobbies United to avoid defeat.
