Finidi Frustrated With Enyimba’s Shooting As Enyimba Host Katsina United

By Daily Sports on January 29, 2022

Head coach Finidi George is frustrated with Enyimba’s poor run in front of goals but has called for more patience from the fans.

The eight-time Nigerian Champions are having a torrid time in front of goal in the NPFL so far this season — scoring just five in eight league matches.

They sit third from bottom on the list of the teams with the least goals in the league — they are just a goal better than MFM FC and Niger Tornadoes (four).

“I won’t say I’m bothered because three points is the most important thing,” Finidi said when asked if he’s beginning to worry.

“Yes, I understand that they have to finish off these chances. But what can I do?. We train on it, but I can’t enter the pitch and shoot those balls. So the players that we have to score those goals.” He said.

Despite the lack of goals, Enyimba sits fourth of the league with 13 points from 8 games but has 0 goal differences.

Asked why his forwards are struggling to put chances away, the former Ajax Amsterdam and Real Betis winger said:

“We have It’s based on confidence and when they start scoring, the confidence will return. When we start winning more than a goal, then we’ll be fine.”

“It’s just about confidence, we’ll keep working on it and hopefully we can score more a goal in the next game” he concluded.
