FIFA To Live Stream Enyimba VS Wydad Casablanca, Other AFL Quarterfinals

By Daily Sports Nigeria on October 20, 2023

In an exciting development for football fans, FIFA has announced that it will livestream the upcoming quarterfinal match between Enyimba and Wydad Casablanca in the African Football League (AFL), as well as other games in the competition.

The African Football League (AFL) is a fresh and highly anticipated competition, established through a partnership between FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

This inaugural tournament will bring together eight of Africa’s most renowned and successful football clubs, spanning all three African regional blocs.

The first legs of the quarterfinals are scheduled for October 20, 21, and 22, with the return fixtures taking place on October 24 and 25. The competition’s kickoff will feature a match between Tanzania’s Simba SC and Egypt’s Al Ahly SC at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

On Saturday, TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo will host Esperance Sportive de Tunis. Simultaneously, Angola’s Petroleos de Luanda will face off against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa at the Estadio 11 de Novembro in Launda.

Enyimba is set to square off against Wydad AC on Sunday, with the game taking place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. Notably, CAF determined that the Aba Stadium was not suitable for a match of this caliber.

The second legs of the quarterfinals are slated for October 24, featuring Al Ahly hosting Simba SC at the Cairo International Stadium.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome Petroleos de Luanda to the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

On October 25, Esperance Sportive de Tunis will host the second leg of their encounter with TP Mazembe at the Hammadi Agrebi Stadium. At the same time, Wydad AC and Enyimba will battle for a coveted semifinal spot at the Stade Mohammed V in Morocco.

The inaugural edition of the AFL is seen as a precursor to the full-fledged African Football League, which will bring together the top 24-ranked African football clubs beginning in the 2024/25 season.

This competition is expected to be a game-changer in the African football landscape, offering more exciting matchups for fans across the continent.
