MFM FC teenage sensation, Adebayo Waheed has said he is excited with his first Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) goal and has promised to do more for his team.

The Lagos-based club defeated four-time NPFL winners Kano Pillars 1-0 in Sunday’s NPFL Matchday 5 clash at the Agege Stadium courtesy of a 65th-minute flying header from the young striker who came on as a substitute for Adegboyega Adekunle in the 60th minute of the match.

The excited 18-year-old forward who made his first appearance in the Nigerian top flight believes his feat had a divine touch to it and took time to credit his team's coaching crew and teammates for coming out tops in the game.

"I want to thank God for giving me this opportunity and secondly I want to thank the coaches and my teammates for giving me the opportunity to be in the team and to play for the team.

"I'm so excited to score the goal, I want to do more and I promise I will do my best for the team and help the team meet its target for the season as I continue to better my football career," the Ilorin- born player told the club's website, mountaintopfc.com.

The Olukoya Boys occupy second spot on the NPFL table with 10 points from five league matches. They will be guests to Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday for Matchday 6 clash tagged the 'Southwest Derby.' (npfl.ng)
