Okumagba consolidates Supporters Club leadership as more chapters join forces •Club storms Uyo Wednesday for Eagles AFCON qualifier

National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporter Club (NFSC), Prince Vincent Okumagba, is steadily consolidating his ground as the new face of the Club as many new members after thorough screening have been admitted to the reborn club. Also more chapter chairmen and secretaries have led their members to declared their full support for his leadership.

Daily Sports investigation revealed that the latest endorsement of the Okumagba NFSC leadership stems from his acumen to steer the ship of the club since he formally assume its leadership some months ago.

According to some of those that spoke to dailysportsng.com, Okumagba has given NFSC a new and enduring face that has lifted the image of the club since he took over the leadership.

“We are grateful that he was finally elected as our chairman. Of truth is that he has performed well. He has our vote of confidence. He has done well for the club. You can now raise your head to say you are a member of Supporters Club unlike the past where acrimony was the order of the day. Sanity is gradually returning. Our advocacy for change of attitude is gaining ground fast. Truth is that he knows what to do to bring lucidity among members but the old order was hell bent on blocking all his great works and plans then. Now that he has our mandate, he has been showcasing what meaningful leadership is all about and we are glad that he is not relenting in the provision of such kind of quality management he has been known for over the years.

“Foremost, he is not a greedy leader. He carries people along. That and so many others remain his strong points and instrument to why he has large followership. Those of us that were deceived to believe he is not recognised have now realised that he is the one that is in direct contact with the NFF and Sports Ministry leaderships, the owners of the Super Eagles. Okumagba has deep knowledge of administration that is why NFSC has started doing things in a more civilised manner since he mounted the podium,” one of the members said.

The supporters further informed that the way the Club supports the Eagles now makes the whole exercise worth the while. They called for total support for his leadership and also called on other members who are still hanging out there to endeavour to come and rejoin their colleagues in the Okumagba fully recognised mass movement.

Meanwhile, preparations have reached feverish height as Supporters Club members angle to storm Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to lend their support to the Eagles game against their Bafana Bafana counterparts in the AFCON qualifier.

Insider sources revealed that the plan to leave earlier to the venue stem from their desire to ensure more supporters would be mobilised to mount the proverbial 12th player in support of the Eagles squad and to guarantee full awareness for the locals on the importance of the game. It was further gathered that everything has been put in place for hitch free operations. The local chapter of the club is giving report on the situation on ground there.
