Chairman of Delta State Sports Commission (DSSC), Chief Tonobok Okowa, has expressed confidence that the state will defend her title at the forthcoming National Sports Festival (NSF in Edo State without much trouble as many speculate.

He urged other states to be more serious with their preparations for the fiesta rather than focusing on Delta State.

“Our athletes cannot be distracted away from our focus,” Tonobok Okowa said on Wednesday during the closing ceremony of the Greater Delta Games 2020 School Sports Festival, in Asaba.

He revealed that 60 new young athletes have been discovered by the state and would join other athletes for the NSF and the National Youth Games.

“Our athletes are seriously preparing ahead of the forthcoming National Sports Festival in Edo State. Preparation is an open key to our success,” the popular sports administrator said.

The Edo state 2020 National Sports Festival is billed to commence March 20-April 1, 2020.
