BREAKING NEWS: Bomb scare at Old Trafford; Manchester United’s final-day Premiership match called off

By Daily Sports on May 15, 2016

The presence of a package at Old Trafford suspected to be a bomb has forced the abandonment of Manchester United’s final-day Premiership match against Bournemouth.

The result of the match could decide if Manchester United would finish among the top four and thus qualify to play in the European Champions League next season.

A BBC report said: “Two stands – the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and the Stretford End – were evacuated before the home game against Bournemouth and sniffer dogs brought in to search the stands.

“Kick-off, due at 15:00 BST, was delayed and shortly afterwards the match was abandoned on police advice.

“Security personnel are supervising fans exiting the stadium.”
