Enter! Barrister Chris Green!!

Honestly speaking, the Eagle has at last landed!!!  I meant Nigeria is supposed to be celebrating the nation’s achievements/exploits of all kinds in sports, instead of the present mediocrity which has characterized the landscape of the country yet people want to either sit tight or are fighting tooth and nail to ensure their stooges who have nothing concrete to offer football and other sports succeed them.

Let me take some space to congratulate seasoned football administrator and Lawyer, Barrister Chris Green on his well deserved appointment as Commissioner in Rivers State by very resourceful Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, POWER OF SPORTS (POS) AFRICA who in his infinite wisdom drafted Barrister Chris Green to chair Rivers United FC for productivity and high performance which instantly translated into guiding the team to this season’s NPFL winner after many years of long wait.

I have not hidden my admiration for both Governor Wike and Chris due to their high performance instincts in endeavours they have found themselves/held in trust for the service of humanity.

Needless to start reeling out the achievements of the new Commissioner who has left and would continue engrave more footsteps on the sands of time.

He is an assertive personality, little wonder therefore he runs with assignments which is entrusted in his hands. The fiery Rivers State Governor has placed football cum sports in the oil rich State on the path of growth by bringing Chris Green into the main stream.

Love him or hate him, Governor Wike has eyes for great products, goal getters, and an astute administrator par excellence.  Wike has acumen of the first order. Little wonder therefore, he is always being sort after by both his political friends and opponents alike.  As if he read my few lines on Chris Green’s landmark belief in excellence in sports administration either in national or state assignments assigned to him last week; while X-raying his great job in Rivers United immediately he took charge of the flagship football club in the State.

Chris Green like Governor Wike takes risks and also takes responsibilities’. That is what makes a true and rare leader.

In short, like his boss, he is an asset manager. He is also independent minded fellow and sports in the State will see the light of the day and great move forward once again and Rivers State getting returns in her investments which will be harvesting of laurels.

Now that he is in charge, sports would once again take the front seat marching head to head the benefitting investments the Governor has extended or pumped into the sub-sector in the State in his (Governor’s) spirited efforts to ensuring that the youths and the young ones are developed through sports.

To say the very least, Barrister Chris Green is a round peg on round hole. He is a prudent manager of men, money and materials. He has track record. So he is not just anybody in the system. Congratulations Chris for yet another feather!
