Abia Central Senatorial District: Reasons Why Austin Akobundu is the Man!

By Victor Enyinnaya on January 23, 2023

I‘ll leave sports on the back bench this week.  As a matter of fact, we have long added Politics, Entertainment, Business and Finance and other sections of journalism until we get there.
Readers have acknowledged such as very beautiful and perfect blending and followership has been upbeat.

As Google worldwide sanctioned digital newspaper, our readers are legion and our wide acceptance was not surprising at all. Thanks dear loyal and numerous readers worldwide for sticking strictly to us.

The electioneering is on the optimum for the forthcoming elections first, on February 25, for Presidential and National Assembly polls.

This week again this page will X-ray and analyze the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Austin Akobundu for Abia Central Senatorial seat.

For the records, Austin Akobundu is a retired Army Officer and has held different political office positions in his party in the past and by the grace of God will represent the above Senatorial district, he will be sitting in the Upper legislative Chamber after the February 25, national assembly election.

Let me state categorically here that this columnist as an alumni of Government College Umuahia 1981 set, is obligated to support one of my own , retired Col Austin Akobundu vying for elective position to become a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for good, come February 25.

For your information, retired Colonial Austin Akobundu is an old boy of Government College Umuahia, one of the prestigious colleges in Nigeria and till date it remains same. As the School Motto Stated, In Unum Lucent meaning, “May We Shine As One”. Akobundu as a prominent Umuahian is also eminently qualified to represent Abia Central Senatorial district. He enjoins all of us to come and lets shine as one. He has the capacity which is one of the bedrocks for quality representation as pointer. Akobundu right from the day he was admitted as a student of Government College Umuahia to the day he completed his course of study at that famous citadel which gave him a solid academic foundation…  Up Umuahia!  It adequately prepared him for the future hence he has performed exceptionally in the endeavours he has found himself. Note that as a gold fish, he has no place to hide; hence he is a solid personal and servant leader thus far.

It is instructive to state clearly here that Austin Akobundu has track record of provision of valuable services.  He is not known to be found wanting in any public office he has held in the past and critical observers and keen analysts posited that the good people of Abia Central Senatorial district have to return YES vote for Akobundu this term. Further truth is that he knows the terrain and has great personality that is respectable amongst the public. Above all, he won’t be found wanting in any sphere in the Upper Chamber. He will not play second fiddle where it matters most haven built solid background for himself and his subjects.

The local governments that made up Abia Central have a lot in their hands to handle in all ramifications, vigilance being the main watch word to ensure nobody tampers with the peoples’ mandate for Austin Akobundu.

Akobundu has the acumen to be our Senator this term. He is tested, bold, trusted, core personality of great worth and so, we are blessed to have this kind of man aspiring to represent us after February 25 senatorial election. One thing is certain and that is Akobundu is a passionate and compassionate personality who has the interest and love of his people and sundry at heart.

I’m not hiding under any guise in my total support for retired Col Austin Akobundu because if I don’t give much support to my super good old boy in Government College Umuahia who else. God will always give the will to shine as one. Fact is that his entry into Abia Central Senatorial race is no fluke or as an underdog. No way, rather he earned all that he has been so far and this one on the line won’t be an exception.   He is qualified to represent our district anywhere.

Abia Central people must put their eyes on the ball. Their fingers must be firmly crossed too.

There is no story whatsoever on why Col. Austin Akobundu would not be elected as our next Senator for the Central. For the Ikwuano local government that has the candidate, the bulk of the votes must go to our best which is Col. Akobundu.  We (Ikwuano) indigenes would be a laughing stock before our brothers/sisters in the other local governments of the same district, if we fail to pull bulk vote for our candidate – Austin Akobundu.

The above qualities and much more still yet to be mentioned here are reasons why we must vote solidly for Col. Austin Akobundu for the Abia Central Senatorial seat come February 25. Ikwuano people must lead from front in this our hour of search for honour for the first time since democratic rule bathed in 1999 in Abia State. We must not put our feet wrongly. He is our best for now and we cannot fail to send him for full and strong representation in Abuja…… Up Umuahia!!

He is intelligent, calculative, central and reliable figure to bestow such high office on. He has seen it all and so will not be a green horn as his opponents may make people to believe. A people oriented individual and very suave too.

For this columnist, I say forward with Col.Austin Akobundu. He has raised the bar in his campaigns thus far. He has brought issue based campaign to bear and his manifesto which he unveiled last Wednesday in public till date remains talk of the town as even at the time of putting this column to bed. I think that if given the mandate by our compatriots out there we will continuously beat our chests that our votes were well directed..

Last line: A vote for Col. Austin Akobundu will be the best for us. As we keep our fingers crossed, keep shooting hard till next week. Meanwhile we wait!!
