Italian pundit rates Osimhen high

By Daily Sports Nigeria on January 26, 2023

Following his impressive run this season, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has been rated as one of the hottest strikers in Europe.

The Nigerian’s excellent performance in Serie A has also attracted interests from top clubs in Europe, including English Premiership sides Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham, who all want the Super Eagles goal poacher, who has registered 14 goals and four assists across 19 appearances in all competitions for Napoli this season.

His superb form has helped fire the Parthenopeans to the top of Serie A table with 50 points at the mid-way point of the season.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio said the 24-year-old Nigeria striker is the most sought-after player in Europe and will cost a lot of money to sign the former Lille forward.

“Osimhen is a name to keep in great consideration in view of the summer transfer market. I think it’s the goal of the summer of many top clubs, especially in the Premier League,” Di Marzio said as reported by Tutton Napoli.

“Many Premier League clubs like Osimhen, but it costs a lot. Currently finding players in Europe with Osimhen’s physical strength and eye for goals seems really complicated.

“But Napoli at the moment absolutely do not want to sell him and they raised the price. Manchester United think Osimhen may seek an assault during the summer transfer market, but it will be complicated.”

Napoli are likely to accept offers in the region of €150m for Osimhen next summer, looking at his goalscoring form.
