Issues Prevailing Towards Run Up To February 25 Elections: Bola Tinubu Goes Offensive

By Daily Sports Nigeria on February 14, 2023

As we can safely testify, every aspect of human life can never be divorced from politics further bearing in mind that every human is said to be a political animal.
It is against the above inflammable backgrounds therefore and more that we will continue our thoughts on Nigeria’s political terrain today. It is most worrisome and no longer news that there is increase of violence in Lagos weeks to the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections and other South West States against opponents who are being frantically ambushed and attacked by thugs suspected to be APC supporters. Note that the party has as usual denied any involvement.  To put it bluntly the hour is zeroing in fast as tension run to high heavens.
In that colouration therefore, Nigerians are eagerly waiting to do the needful this time, one that will meaningfully impact positively.  Nigerians especially the youths have vowed never again to go for those set of politicians with empty promises which was their bedrock in 2015, a gimmick they chorused that brought the entire citizenry on their knees today.
Nigeria is a dark horse today not only shadow of herself. Nothing in every sense of the word works in the present Nigeria. That naughtiness and more are what steers Nigerians on the face which led to the trillion Dollars question of what the ruling party, APC has to tell helpless citizens that went wrong and what it intends to do differently this time but sadly, the Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu has been fanning the embers of violence and against opponents thereby hitting up the polity.
Nigerians residing in Lagos State have been allegedly getting threats from agents of APC Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu that if they fail to vote for him, they will attack them pointedly and destroy their businesses, many more anomalies have been ongoing.
However, one will not fail to point out here that in as much as there are many fake news flying left, right and centre, one thing is certain and that is violence of any kind by any group against a targeted part of the country would finally prove as an ill wind that would blow nobody any good.
Again, people instructing their supporters or agents to unleash violence against a certain section of the country must know that violence is not exclusive to them {first aggressors}. Political power should not be seen as a do or die affair and anybody peddling that it is his turn can safely be seen or referred to as being foolish because Nigeria of 2023 is not that of 2015 when APC use all sorts of deceits, propaganda, personal vendetta and sundry to climbed to power without a blue print, which has left Nigeria and Nigerians in devastating ruins today.
The most shameful aspect of its all is that the same national leader of the destructive political party, APC now Presidential candidate Bola Tinubu who was/is arrowhead of the many sufferings Nigerian populace are undergoing presently and instead of telling Nigerians what went wrong in the past seven {7} plus years his party has held sway is busy allegedly empowering and instructing his supporters to go offensive against none APC members will not be acceptable and is against democratic tenets.
This columnist must posit here that those breathing fire and brimstone should be told in clearer terms that when rain falls, it spares nobody’s roof. APC promised change in 2015 but the party has returned misery, anarchy, nepotism and diversionary instincts.
Continuous writing about or mentioning All Progressives Congress, APC would be boring to the reader and writer. Therefore such baggies against the ruling APC makes the political party as a bad news of the first and worst order and those pushing the candidacy and Presidency of Bola Tinubu knew deep down that the man is weak at the moment and has nothing up his sleeves to offer Nigerians hence the violence and threats his agents and supporters have been unleashing on opponents.
You can see his kind of politics on display since the scarcity of new Naira notes, a policy of his APC  and how he turned around to attack the policy after his spirited attempts to arrest the CBN Governor by DSS and several summons by his boy, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabamila failed.
As that prove abortive he used APC Governors to stop any further implementation of new Naira notes deadline at the Supreme Court which he secured and many more States have joined. Nigerians can see his kind of politics of back and forth, deadly, dirty propaganda, blackmail, violence and pressure to turn back the hand of the clock. Indicators showed that this 2023, his cup is filled up as Nigerians have known his past and present antics kind of politics.
Nigerians are keen and eager to go to the polls come February 25, despite his under ground moves via his agents to cause uncertainty and scary atmosphere to warrant postponement of the elections. But we are hell bent in ensuring that nothing, even his constant violence, intimidation and threats especially against Ndigbo in Lagos State would deter them from coming out massively to cast their ballots for their preferred candidate that would bring the desired succor to the already down and out populace.
None of all those antics/instructions of his to his agents will work this time, though his opponents’ advocates of none violence won’t fold their hands watching any longer. We need to support any candidate that will stop this steady slide of Nigerian nation for a prosperous country where living and life of the citizenry would return safely to normalcy and foremost on safe palms of a President who knows how to go about the load of liabilities APC misrule has forced the country into.
While we are keenly watching with utmost interest, we however appeal for clam, play to the rule of law by the main actors and foremost, a level playing ground for all the candidates on the Presidential race to ensure peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the elections. Of certainty is that the era of do or die politics is dead on arrival for good in 2023. No more, no less.
Keep shooting hard till next week. Meanwhile we wait!!
