As We Wait For Gusau, House Committee On Sports Must Not Sell Out!

By Victor Enyinnaya on August 28, 2023

Enyimba and Remo are out of this year’s CAF Champions League; both teams could not scale through to the next round because of their inability to overcome their respective opponents. It is as scandalous as that.  I saw it coming, especially on Enyimba with mass exodus of her first eleven players. The reality is what is on ground.  It is also a lesson to other teams for the future.

Enyimba has started on wrong footing. Whether you admit the above or not, it is there for many objective analysts, buffs and sundry to come to terms with.  Let the league start and let the organizers of the championship brace up and give a full stop to this kind of nonsense Enyimba and Remo posted.

Whether you agree or not Nigerian football is mourning. In short this is sad commentary. Let us face it, our high expectations that our league has come looks a ruse of the first and worst order. Come to think of it, how do you explain such performance in football by a team that held much hope for the fans and even beyond, Enyimba failed woefully to turn their opponents back painfully in front of their vocal drumming, clapping, singing and dancing fans and all?

In times like this when it is in the public domain that our football locally is growing. Finidi George and his men should tell the story better. Whatever hit the team like a thunderbolt caught them pants down.

It is not funny that Enyimba since 2005 has not performed this abysmally. We are keenly watching what it takes to live in heaven. As Enyimba and Remo failed to get further the mirror has broken and that chapter this season has closed.

Any team in the NPFL that failed to use this dismal outing by these teams that represented Nigeria as melting point then, such team is not qualified and worthy to compete during the incoming season

The teams are home to roost. They will be waiting for the kick –off of the 2023/24 NPFL season.

It is the truth and no night

The controversy, arguments and counter arguments that are currently raging between NFF and House of Representative Adoc Committee on sports insisting that the football house bring along all the documents that relate to their spending on Super Falcons are what we usually hear, what would come out of it at the end is another story.

After much effort to defend the papers before the House Committee failed to fly, the House therefore gave Ibrahim Gusau ending of this Month to supply or provide every document that would clarify their transactions.

The whole place in our football administration and record keeping are totally in mess. The present NFF leadership is partners in crime all, hence their hands are tied.  However, one is not worried a hoot on the noisemaking by the House Adhoc Committee on sports.

To be honest with you, I did not give it any thought when l first read their encounter. This kind of scenario happened often between the NFF leadership and House Committee on sports each National Assembly.

Though, not much is expected to come out of the faceoff between the chairmen.  Most times Nigeria is not where truth triumphs. Nigeria is a metaphor has set another infamous defeat.

I still think that Ibrahim Gusau and his co-travelers won’t be fantastic; You don’t give what you don’t have.

This latest is in public how it will die down considerably you and l will not know. It is on that sad note we draw the curtain for this week. Keep shooting hard till next week. Meanwhile, we wait!!
