Nigeria fields 358 in 25 sports for African Games

The Team Nigeria will be represented by no fewer than 358 athletes in the 13th African Games.

The Games are to run from March 8 to March 23 in multiple cities - Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast. 

Nigeria is competing in 25 sports disciples at the event. 

The athletes were accredited at the Delegation Registration Meeting conducted on March 4, 2024. 

They are as follows: 

1.Arm Wrestling - 15 athletes 

2.Athletics - 50

3.Badminton - 12

4.Basketball 3 x 3 - 4 female 

5.Beach Volleyball - 4

6.Boxing - 11

7.Chess - 4

8.Cricket - 15

9.Cycling - 12

10.Hockey - 32

11.Football - 40

12.Handball - 14

13.Judo - 10

14.Karate - 14

15.Mixed Marrial Arts - 4

16.Rugvy - 16

17.Scrabble - 8

18.Swimming - 4

19.Table Tennis - 10

20.Taekwondo - 14

21.Tennis - 8

22.Triathlon - 4
