Moses Simon on target in Gent triumph

By Daily Sports on September 12, 2016

Nigeria international, Moses Simon, has continued with his fine form this season, scoring in KAA Gent’s 3-0 win over Sporting Lokeren on Sunday in the Belgian league.

Simon started the game alongside another Nigerian - midfield powerhouse Anderson Esiti - as the former champions ran out winners in an easy game.

Branislav Nijaj put through his own goal when he miscued past goalkeeper Boubacar Barry to put the home side ahead on 26 minutes.

Red-hot Kalifa Coulibaly deservedly put Gent 2-0 ahead in the 61st minute just after captain Nana Asare saw his shot go just inches wide.

Simon was having a blinder of a game and he capped a brilliant shift with the third goal in the 70th minute for the Buffaloes to earn his side a comprehensive 3-0 win.

Esiti, making his debut for his new team after his summer transfer from Portuguese club Estoril, also had a good game and lasted the entire duration.

Rabiu Ibrahim, also a summer acquisition from Slovakian champions AS Trencin, made his Gent debut coming on for Kenneth Saief in the 78th minute.

Simon’s goal was his second in as many games this season and he will hope to continue in that form considering he got only three goals last season for Gent. (Sourced from Supersport.com)
