Co-or-die: Rangers out to stun Zamalek in Enugu

By Daily Sports on March 19, 2017

Enugu Rangers are set to host Zamalek in the 2017 CAF Champions League first-round second-leg clash at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 16h00.

Nigerian champions Rangers were hammered 4-1 by Egypians giants Zamalek in the first-leg in Cairo last weekend.

Mostafa Fathi, Ayman Hefny, Hossam Salama and Stanley Ohawuchi all netted for Zamalek, while Bobby Clement scored for Rangers.

This was Rangers’ second consecutive defeat having lost to Rivers United in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) game before facing Zamalek.

Imama Amapakabo, the Rangers coach, will once again look to Clement, who has netted two goals in this year’s Champions League, to inspire his side to victory.

A 3-0 victory over Zamalek, will see Rangers advance to the 2017 CAF Champions League group stages.

Meanwhile, Zamalek’s win over Rangers saw the former return to winning ways as they had lost to Misr Lel-Makkasa in the Egyptian Premier League (EPL) game two weeks ago.

Nigerian striker Ohawuchi is likely to start upfront for Mohamed Helmy’s side as he looks to score again and help Zamalek register another win.

A draw will be enough to send Zamalek into this year’s CAF Champions League group stages.

Gabonese referee Eric Otogo-Castane will be in charge of the game.
