Gombe United hand Manu ultimatum

Ex-Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba has been handed a three-match ultimatum or face sanctions by Gombe United as they have released eight players including former Kano Pillars captain Bala Mohammed ahead of the second round of the NPFL.

A statement signed by club spokesman Tanimu Umar says coach Manu Garba has been given the next three matches to improve the team’s performance or face sanctions.

Gombe are 18th on the 20-team NPFL table with 22 points from 18 matches.

Other players let go by Gombe United are former Enyimba defender Nura Mohammed as well as ex-Rangers striker Samuel Agba also parted company with Gombe United.

The other released players are – Fabassou Diedonne, McDonald Igbankwe, Franklin Matibel, Nnamdi Ebosie and Chidera Ejuike.

The statement made available to SCORENigeria also disclosed that based on recommendation of the coaches 11 new players have been signed.

They include Shooting Stars striker Afolabi Abdulwaheed and Kano Pillars midfielder Tijjani Adamu.

The other new signings are Igoh Ogbu (central defender Geeleg Academy Jos), Habib Olawale (midfielder Lagos Academy), Iyoro Evans (central midfielder Dolphins), Joseph Onoja (winger El Kanemi Warriors) and Usman Musa (winger Doma United).

Also signed up are Abdulrahman Umar Kelebe (striker Yarmalight), Zaidu Mohammed Ibrahim (left full back Flash), Jamilu Shehu (central defender Doma United) and Aminu Abubakar Yusa (striker Taraba United).
