NPFL: MFM look past 3SC

By Daily Sports on June 11, 2017

Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries (MFM) FC centre back, Monsuru Bashiru has said his side will not show mercy to struggling top-flight club, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).

The Olukoya Boys are hosts of the Oluyole Warriors in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 24 Southwest derby at the Agege Township Stadium in Lagos.

Both sides shared the spoils in the first fixture clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Bashiru said his side need all the points they can lay their hands on in order to climb back to the top-flight summit.

“There will not be any mercy to 3SC as we are coming on to the pitch to amass the whole three points at stake in the clash.

“As you can see the top-flight log we are on the fourth position which is unbefitting as far as we are concerned.

“We are planning to get back to the summit once again and the clash against 3SC is a huge opportunity towards inching close to the top.

“Of course, we will not gamble with such rare opportunity, as we need the whole three points badly, even more than the visitors 3SC.

“Well, 3SC are strong and traditional side. We will never underrate or undermine their potential to ruffle feathers if given the chance.

“We have trained very hard upon returning from the futile clash at Lobi Stars, we are united on same course and team spirit is quite high - sure to power us to victory,” said the MFM FC strongman to supersport.com.

Bashiru said the Lagos landlords’ target in the ongoing top-flight is to be crowned the champions at the end of the season.

“First and foremost we want to get back to the top and once we achieve the mark nobody will dethrone us till the end of the season.

“Besides, we want to win the league title and head to the continent as Nigerian champions, it looks tough but we are determined to make it a reality,” said Bashiru.

MFM FC are fourth on the 20-team top-flight log on 37 points, five behind league leaders Plateau United.
