Experienced goalkeeper Femi Thomas and midfielder Nzube Anaezemba have rejoined Enyimba after a loan spell at Rivers United ahead of next year’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Scorenigeria.com.ng reports.

The two players featured for Rivers United last term for their CAF Champions League and later CAF Confederation Cup campaigns, helping them reach the group phase of Africa’s second-tier interclub competition.

According to Scorenigeria.com.ng, the players were loaned out to ‘The Pride of Rivers’ by ‘The People’s Elephant’ for their domestic and continental assignments in the concluded season.

“We’ve two players with us here who were on loan from Enyimba”, an official of Rivers United informed Scorenigeria.com.ng

“They are goalkeeper Femi Thomas and midfielder Nzube Anaezemba.

“With the season now over for us because we are no longer in the Federation Cup contest, we know they will be rejoining their parent club Enyimba.

“Moreso when Enyimba are going to play in the continent next year and that means they will need all the best legs they can put together”.

The official who would not want his name in print was full of praise for the two players for their contributions to the club last term.

“It’s unfortunate we did not meet our target on the continent as well as the fact we struggled to keep our NPFL status.

“It’s all down to internal issues.
“The players did their best and we are proud of their contributions”.
