Man City want buy-back clause for Kelechi Iheanacho

By Daily Sports on June 21, 2017

Manchester City reportedly want a buy-back clause should they agree to sell Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho to fellow Premier League side West Ham United.

The Super Eagles attacker is being linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium as he has fallen down the pecking order at City and is not expected to see much playing time next season.

West Ham United appear to be in pole position in the chase for Iheanacho’s signature, but the Citizens’ insistence on a buy-back clause appears to be a stumbling block.

“The problem with Iheanacho, like you say, is that City have demanded a buy-back clause to be part of the deal,” a West Ham insider told mcfcwatch.com.

“The player himself doesn’t want to leave and this is also seen as a way of appeasing the transfer. The buy-back clause is said to be quite low...

”A bid has been made and we are still keen but further negotiations are still required.”

Iheanacho’s situation is also being monitored by Crystal Palace, Leicester City and a couple of clubs in the German Bundesliga.
